Dove’s Touching Criminal Sketch Campaign
Yesterday I came across this very moving and original campaign designed by Ogilvy Brazil for Dove. In this, never seen before campaign, they hired world renouned Criminal Sketch Artist Gil Zamora, who has an impressive portfolio of over 3000 sketches to draw 2 sketches each of 7 women. First sketch is based on how the these women describe themselves and second one based on the description given by a random stranger they have just met. As Adfreak describes it is
“It’s one of the most original and touching experiments to come from the Campaign for Real Beauty in ages, because instead of making faux protests or annoying graphic designers with bullshit filters, they’re actually empowering individual women to appreciate their inherent beauty, and in turn, allowing us all to wonder if we’ve been judging ourselves too harshly.”
Like all the best works, there is no commercial element in this campaign. Besides the logo, Dove isn’t remotely trying to sell anything here. Below is the video of showing little snippets of each of the women trying to describe herself and how the sketches came into being. What do you guys think about this moving campaign from Dove?
